Would You Have Voted For Biden? Former Vice President Regrets Not Running For President
Former Vice President Joe Biden gave a speech at Colgate University in Hamilton New York, which was largely focused on helping the middle class. He spoke about his chances of being president.
“I had planned on running for president and although it would have been a very difficult primary, I think I could have won,” he said. “Maybe not, I don’t know.”
“I was fairly confident that if I had become the Democratic nominee, I would have had a good chance to be president,” Biden continued.
“Do I regret not being president? Yes,” Biden said. “I was the best qualified.”
But Biden had his reasons for not running, the main one being the loss of his son. He explained that he felt he couldn’t run because he “lost part of [his] soul” when his son Beau Biden passed after battling cancer.
Although Biden does regret not running for president, he doesn’t regret spending the time he would have spent campaigning with his family instead.
