WaPo Photographer Captures Image Of Trump’s Handwritten Notes After Storming Out Of Meeting With Dems
In the surface, President Donald Trump’s media appearance in the Rose Garden on Wednesday appeared to have been unplanned. During his “impromptu” speech, the president raged against Democrats for saying he is engaged in a “cover-up.” But the president’s show fell apart after the media captured images of his handwritten, misspelled, notes.
In the picture, taken by Washington Post staff photographer Jabin Botsford, Trump’s notes read “They want to impeach me over acts that they did” and “Dems have no achomlishments.” Yes, he misspelled “accomplishments.”
Trump walked out of a meeting with Democratic leaders for the appearance Wednesday, displaying a sign on the podium claiming special counsel Robert Mueller’s report had found “no collusion” and “no obstruction.”
Trump told assembled members of the press he would not work with the Democratic House majority on major legislation until it ended its various investigation into his administration and businesses and fired back at accusations by Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) that he had engaged in a “cover-up.”
