GOP strategist and frequent critic of the Trump administration, Ana Navarro, called out First Lady Melania Trump and first daughter Ivanka Trump for “staged photo ops” to make Donald Trump look good.
Republican strategist Alice Stewart pushed the narrative that Melania’s trip to the southern border makes it seem as if the Trump administration cares about the children that are locked up in cages.
“In terms of this compassion, when we’ve seen Melania Trump make a second visit to the border, that goes a long way to show we care,” Stewart argued.
“But does it?” asked host Fredricka Whitfield.
“No, it doesn’t, Alice,” Navarro chimed in.
“I’m a little over these staged photo ops, I’m a little over, I’m a little unaffected by hearing that Ivanka and Melania are having an influence on the president,” she charged. “And there are still 2,000 kids that are separated that are waiting for their mommy, sleeping under foil blankets.”
“Really, Melania Trump, Ivanka Trump, girls, you got more work to do,” Navarro concluded.
