On Saturday a CNN Panel, lead by analyst Brian Stelter, discussed Donald Trump’s mental stability and if he’s even able to be the president of the United States.
The discussion comes after what has been the most hectic week since Trump took over office.
Stelter brought up the times people have questioned Trump mental state of mind.
“Is the President of the United States a racist? Is he suffering from some kind of illness? Is he fit for office? And if he’s unfit, then what?” he asked.
“His actions have been described as unpresidential, unhinged and sometimes even crazy. That word crazy can be interpreted several different ways. It gets said more in private than on TV,” he added before sharing clips of both journalists and lawmakers making subtle — and not so subtle — suggestions that something is not right with Trump.
Stelter then welcomed his group of panelists: historian Douglas Brinkley, legendary journalist Carl Bernstein and CNN political analyst Alice Stewart. They all took shots at the president, while Stewart pointed out that Trump’s mental stability was questioned during his 2016 campaign.
“If people are raising this question from the across the aisle, it is a legitimate story,” Stewart explained, “It is a legitimate question because elected officials are raising this issue.”
