WATCH: GOP Congressman Blasts McConnell On Live TV, Calls Him A Coward That ‘Should Resign’
The Republican party is slowly falling apart and it all started when Donald Trump took over office. They took over all three branches of government and expected they would have everything go their way, they could not be more wrong.
On Friday, during an interview on CNN, Republican Congressman Mo Brooks called for a better leadership in the Senate.
The conservative Congressman blames the failed attempts at repealing Obamacare on Senator Mitch McConnell.
“If I were Mitch McConnell, I would resign,” Brooks said on Friday.
“If they’re gonna quit, well then by golly, maybe they ought to start at the top with Mitch McConnell leaving his position and letting somebody new, somebody bold, somebody conservative take the reins,” Brooks said on CNN’s New Day.
“If Mitch McConnell cannot get the job done on this, how is he going to get the job done on the rest of President Trump’s agenda over the next three and a half years?” Brooks continued.
As Brooks shares his frustration with McConnell, Trump also shared his frustration on Twitter.
“3 Republicans and 48 Democrats let the American people down,” Trump tweeted following the vote. “As I said from the beginning, let ObamaCare implode, then deal. Watch!”
Trump has yet to achieve any major legislative victories since taking over the presidency six months ago. That speaks a great deal as his party owns the House, the Senate, and the White House.
