Watch: MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow Details Shocking Evidence Of Trump-Putin Collusion
MSNBC host Rachel Maddow on Tuesday slammed the White House for failing to properly write out the transcript from the joint press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin and purposely editing out Putin’s admission that he personally directed his officials to interfere in the 2016 election to help Trump.
Putin’s stunning admission came after Reuters reporter Jeff Mason asked the Russian leader if he wanted Trump to win and if he directed any of his officials to help.
“Yes, I did. Because he talked about bringing the U.S./Russia relationship back to normal,” Putin said.
It was discovered last week that the transcript eliminated the question from the reporter. Maddow noted that the transcript on the White House website still omitted the full exchange. Now, however, the video is cinching it.
“They just dropped that out,” Maddow said. “What the White House has disappeared from the official record, both in print and in the video, President Putin answering in the affirmative when asked if he wanted Trump to win the election.”
Russia doesn’t even show the reporter asked the question at all in their transcript.
“At least the White House had the courtesy to leave in half the question so you can get a misleading answer,” Maddow said. “The Russians took it out altogether. They skipped over the entire exchange. So a critical exchange deleted from the transcript. The U.S. government is following the Kremlin’s playbook and maintaining something we all saw happen with our own eyes, we all heard happen with our own ears, has nevertheless disappeared. Like old political opponents being airbrushed out of photos. Weird, right? Creepy. It turns out wasn’t a mistake. It was on purpose.”
