Watch Racist Woman Get Kicked Out Of Starbucks For Attacking Korean Student Speaking ‘Oriental’
A woman was booted out of a Starbucks in Walnut Creek, California after she angrily told two students who were sitting near her to stop speaking “Oriental.”
Earlier this week, Korean exchange student Annie An was doing school work with her tutor, Sean Lee, in the Walnut Creek Starbucks when a woman sitting nearby demanded that they stop talking.
While they didn’t understand what she wanted at first, they quickly realized that she was upset that they were speaking Korean to one another.
At one point in the dispute, Starbucks staff members came over to ask the woman what her problem was.
“They’re speaking in Oriental,” she replied. “I hate it.”
The Starbucks employee told her that the students were allowed to speak to one another in Korean. The woman replied that former President Barack Obama had once said that people who live in the United States should learn to speak English.
Sean Lee, who is fluent in English, told local news station KRON 4 that he was shocked by the woman’s outburst.
“Out of nowhere, we didn’t provoke her,” Lee said. “We were just minding our own business. This lady just suddenly says, ‘Don’t you dare say that again.’”
Starbucks employees asked the woman to leave, but she refused. They then called the police, who promptly removed her from the cafe.
