Late Night host Seth Meyers slammed President Donald Trump for propping up his own accomplishments and mocked the erratic president fort his insistence that he came up with the term “tax cuts” instead of using the term “tax reform.”
“Oh my God! Do you really think you came up with the phrase, ‘tax cuts?’ Those are literally the two most popular words in the history of politics!” Meyers said Thursday night.
“That’s right, Trump claims he invented the phrase, ‘tax cuts.’ That is so fake, the only thing that would be more fake is claiming you came up with the word ‘fake,’” Meyers added.
The host also noted that Trump did once claim he coined the term “fake news.”
Meyers continued with Trump’s “delusional self-congratulations” to his cabinet meeting, where he claimed his administration has done “like no administration has done.”
“You passed one bill!” Meyers exclaimed. “And people are so enthusiastic about you that Alabama elected a Democratic senator.”
He then blasted Vice President Mike Pence for his glowing remarks of Trump, joking that Trump was like, “Dude, I’m married.” Meyers also targeted the “lackeys” GOPers that were “stroking his ego” at the White House while celebrating the passing of the tax reform bill.
“Man, even Waylon Smithers is like, ‘Have some dignity!’” Meyers quipped.
