Watch: St. Louis Walgreens Calls Cops On Diabetic Black Man For Trying To Buy Product For Insulin Scarring
A Walgreens store in St. Louis was accused of racial profiling this week when they called the police on a black man with diabetes who they claimed was stealing products.
According to the news outlet KSDK, Walgreens called the police on Wesley Dozier on Monday when he stopped to buy products to help with scarring from his insulin pump. The employees reportedly accused him of stealing the beauty products.
“I was more than anything shocked,” Dozier told KSDK. “I felt threatened, but I was just simply confused.”
Dozier said that the police searched him for the stolen items but they released him once they didn’t find any stolen items.
“I felt like I was being treated like I did something wrong. And the way they looked at me as if I was a criminal,” he said.
Walgreens said in a statement that it was looking into the incident.
