A newly found footage captured a teenage passenger on Vancouver SkyTrain standing up to a woman who was yelling racist rants at a Filipino couple.
The video shows the teenagers tell the woman to get off the train and stop harassing the couple. He then told her to stop being a racist.
The video was originally uploaded on Facebook by Ashley Klassen, who wrote:
“This is probably the most disgusting thing I’ve ever seen. Unfiltered Vancouver racism. Shout out to the kid up front.”
Witnesses say that the woman began her racist rant because the couple was being “too loud.”
“I was born and raised right here,” the woman shouted at the couple before adding, “Go back to the f*cking Philippines.”
This hasn’t been this woman’s first racist rant. According to News1130, the police has previously given her warnings for her outbursts.
“She becomes extremely angry, uses her temper and does various things in the throes of her anger. There’s no physical violence involved but it appears to be more verbal,” explained Transit Police spokesperson Ann Drennan.
After the woman got off the train many passengers apologized to the couple, according to the report.
