WATCH: Trump Actually Thinks Clean Coal Is When Mine Workers Physically ‘Clean It’
Does Donald Trump know what he’s talking about half the time he speaks? Not likely. On Tuesday nights rally Trump rambled on about coal jobs, but it didn’t seem like he knew what he was talking about.
Trump said to a crowd full of his supporters:
“We’ve ended the war on beautiful, clean coal, and it’s just been announced that a second, brand-new coal mine,” said Trump, “where they’re going to take out clean coal — meaning, they’re taking out coal. They’re going to clean it — is opening in the state of Pennsylvania, the second one.”

Yes, Trump actually seems to think that clean coal is when miners physically clean the coal. But even with such an uneducated rant his supporters still chanted him on.
In reality there is no such thing as “clean coal.” In terms of carbon pollution, coal is the dirtiest of fossil fuels, so it’s impossible to clean coal unless you remove or capture all the carbon and bury it.
