Donald Trump recently met up with Russian President Vladimir Putin where he failed to bring up the issue of Russia interfering in the U.S. election in 2016.
Later on Tuesday, Trump took back his comments from Monday’s summit and claimed that Russia did interfere in the election but it didn’t change the results of it.
Prior to Trump taking back his comments, a Trump supporter called C-Span on Monday during a live TV coverage to thank Russia personally for interfering in the U.S. election to get Trump election and stopping Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton from being president.
The caller started off by saying: “I’ll try not to sound awful.” This was a clear indicator that what she was about to say wasn’t good.
She went on to praise Russia saying:
“I want to thank the Russians for interfering in our election to stop Hillary Clinton from becoming president.”
The host then asked the caller if she actually thought Russia was the reason Trump won the election in 2016. She responded by saying “yes.”
