Now that Donald Trump is president-elect, conservatives have officially embraced bigotry as their new flag. West Virginia official, Clay County Development Corp. Director Pamela Taylor, just shared a racist message about First Lady Michelle Obama that has set the internet on fire.
Taylor made the post following Donald Trump’s election as president, saying: “It will be refreshing to have a classy, beautiful, dignified First Lady in the White House. I’m tired of seeing a Ape in heels.”
To make matters worst, Clay Mayor Beverly Whaling responded: “Just made my day Pam.”
The post, first reported by WSAZ-TV, was shared thousands of times on social media before it was deleted. Thankfully, we were able to get a screenshot of the post for the world to see.
The Facebook pages of Taylor and Whaling couldn’t be found Monday. A call to the Clay County Development Corp. went unanswered and Whaling didn’t immediately return a telephone message.
An online petition has now racked up over 2,000 signatures demanding that both women be fired, prompting Taylor to “file a lawsuit against individual(s) who have slandered her” as she complains that there is now a “hate crime against me.”
This is the ultimate irony of the anti-“political correctness” crusader – they say something horrendously racist and then feel victimized when they have to face consequences for their actions.
We must remind conservatives that, despite what the electoral college victory of Donald Trump might say, America is not a nation where this kind of talk is acceptable, and raising hell over even small incidents like this are critical in the fight against the normalization of racism and bigotry… And Hillary Clinton won the popular vote.
