WH Deputy Press Secretary Struggles To Talk After Being Questioned Over Trump And Cohen’s Relationship – Watch:
On Monday, a White House spokesperson appeared on CNN to talk about the recent bombshell news that Donald Trump’s longtime personal attorney, Michael Cohen, has also been representing Fox News host Sean Hannity.
CNN’s Anderson Cooper asked White House spokesperson Hogan Gidley if the FBI’s raid is seen as “more of a threat” by Trump than special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation.
“Look, I haven’t spoken to him directly about the raid,” Gidley responded, noting that Trump is concerned about “the direction that the Mueller investigation has turned.”
Cooper then noted to Gidley that when asked if Trump is still being represented by Cohen, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders “wasn’t really clear.”
“She answered it today, actually, on Air Force One,” Gidley said. “She said what we all know which is absolutely, the president still has a relationship with him. I don’t know the exact relationship.”
“The president has many attorneys,” the spokesman said.
Cooper kept pressuring the deputy press secretary, but Gidley insisted: “I can’t tell you.”
