WH Official Responsible For Sending Out Aid To Ukraine Agrees To Testify To Congress: Report
The Washington Post reported on Thursday that Mark Sandy, a career official at the Office of Management and Budget, has agreed to testify to Congress as part of the impeachment inquiry into Donald Trump’s alleged scheme to extort Ukraine with military aid.
Sandy’s acceptance to testify is odd as already three political appointees at OMB, including acting Director Russel Vought, have defied congressional subpoenas to appear before Congress.
The role of OMB in delaying military funding to Ukraine has become a crucial focus of the impeachment investigation, and Mick Mulvaney, who has managed the agency, has come under suspicion.
According to the report, Sandy’s testimony could reveal crucial details about how the freeze on military aid was ordered and carried out.
