The same day the federal government shut down the White House released a photo of Donald Trump seated in the Oval Office as “proof” that he was “working” during the shutdown.
It didn’t take long for Twitter users to mock the picture. One person wrote on the social media site, “I too conduct most of my most important work with a phone in my hand and nothing on my desk, while staring vacantly off into space.”

That dude has not worked a day in his life. You mean he is daydreaming of golf and grabbing kittens.

He had to miss his big party because of the shutdown and was crying and whining about it last night. It’s awesome.

But it wasn’t just Twitter users who bashed Trump’s picture. MSNBC anchor Ali Velshi also roasted the president.
“I wish my desk looked as clean as the president’s desk does right now,” said anchor Ali Velshi as the chyron said Trump was “working” in quotes.
“Don’t we all,” said host Geoff Bennett.
