Whistleblower Now Under Federal Protection After Multiple Threats: Report

Whistleblower federal protection

CBS News’ “60 Minutes” has reported that it obtained a letter (read it below) that indicates the government whistleblower who set off the impeachment inquiry of President Donald Trump is under federal protection after several threats were issued by both the president and his allies.

Last week, the president was caught on video implying that the whistleblower should be executed for treason “like in the old times.”

On Sunday afternoon, Trump demanded to meet the whistleblower and threatened “big consequences” for exposing his alleged crime.

Also on Sunday Fox News pundit Geraldo Rivera issued a not so veiled threat against the whistleblower on live TV, saying, ” I’d love to wap him.”

These rapidly developing events began Tuesday when Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi ordered the investigation based on a phone call between Trump and the president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky in which Zelensky asked Trump for missiles and Trump asked Zelensky for “a favor” in return: to investigate his Democratic rival Joe Biden.

Here’s the letter published by CBS News’ “60 Minutes.”
