Donald Trump spoke with reporters on Air Force One on Thursday where he gloated about his presidency.
Trump told reporters, “I think we’ve had one of the most successful 13 weeks in the history of the presidency.” His statement comes after all the chaos that has come from the White House and the Republican party in his first 100 days.
Trump didn’t talk about his failed healthcare plan, or his failed attempt to ban Muslims from the US, instead he cited positive numbers on job creation, negotiations on presidential aircraft prices and his planned military buildup.
The fact that he actually thinks he’s had the best first 13 weeks in the history of presidency is worrisome. Trump’s first weeks in office have been hectic.
Trump hasn’t done much since taking office. In fact, he continues to be dogged by a federal investigation into whether his associates had anything to do with Russia in its efforts to intervene in the 2016 presidential election.
A controversy that led him to fire Michael Flynn as national security adviser. And recently his chief strategist, Stephen Bannon, was also removed from his permanent role on the National Security Council Principals Committee on Wednesday.
And if things weren’t embarrassing enough as it is, it hasn’t even been 13 weeks since he took office. This Friday will mark Trump’s 11th week as president.
